The Sciotoville Community Schools are aware that flu season is upon us. To be proactive we are doing everything we can in order to prevent the spread of this illness. We are sanitizing classrooms daily and offering tissues, antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer in every classroom. We encourage your child(ren) to take full advantage of these products in order to reduce the likelihood of becoming ill. If your child exhibits flu-like symptoms at home, please act proactively by keeping them home and providing treatment until symptoms have resolved. If your child develops these symptoms while at school, they will be sent home.
Most people with the flu have mild illness and do not need medical care or antiviral drugs. If you get sick with flu symptoms, in most cases, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people except to get medical care. If, however, you have symptoms of flu and are in a high risk group, or are very sick or worried about your illness, contact your health care provider (doctor, physician’s assistant, etc.).
